Reaming is a mechanical operation whereby the accuracy of circular hole diameters can be improved. It is particularly effective and reliable for finishing close tolerance holes that photochemical etching produces.
If very tight engineering tolerances are required on a specific hole or group of holes, they can be purposefully etched under-sized and then brought to the final measurement with a reaming tool.
Fotofab Reaming Tools Stocked for Various Hole Sizes
Fotofab stocks hundreds of different sized reaming tools for the hole size needed for your application.
Our stock includes:
- Precision reamers to enlarge the size of a previously reamed hole by a small amount, but with a high degree of accuracy to leave smooth edges,
- And non-precision reamers for more basic enlargement of holes or for removing burrs.
If your project consists of metals that are sensitive to high levels or heat and require slower machining and cycle times, our reaming service is a good choice for your project, providing a single source for all your photochemical machined metal requirements.
Fotofab’s reaming service offers the advantage of consistency and overall process stability.
